The First E-Mail from Hermana Allphin

Okay so this keyboard is really weird so sorry for the really bad grammar. There is no accents, or apostraphes etc. So I am here! All of my luggage arrived safe and sound and we got through customs with no problem. The flight to Lima was extremely long but I sat by a friend so it made it a little bit better. We arrived at the airport and they put us on a big bus to go to the MTC. The ride to the MTC was crazy because people drive really fast and the streets are really small. The city was not what I expected at all! We got to the MTC at like 1:00 am and got our companions. Everyone that was already in my room is sick so hopefully me and my new comp dont get sick as well. I am here safe and sound and everything is great! My pday is tuesday so I will send you a longer letter then! I love you so much!
con mucho amor

5:30 AM, everyone was pretty tearful as we pulled out of the drive way to go to the airport. Chantelle had made little gifts and letters for all of us that she handed out in the car which didn't make things any easier. The mood brightened up though as we neared the airport and we were teasing Dad for taking the wrong parking exit.  Once inside, the airport check-in was filled with several departing missionaries, many of which were traveling to Peru with Chantelle.  Each missionary looked on anxiously as their parents entered their passports and travel itinerary and siblings gathered around to say their last good byes.  It was really comforting to see some friendly faces among the  missionaries  and meet their families.  We went up stairs to say our last good byes knowing that it would be the last embrace for 18 months. It was a tender moment as each one gave  Chantelle a big hug and  told her that we loved her. Then the moment was over, she grabbed her bags and walked away with all of the other missionaries into security.   We  stayed and watched until we couldn't see her any longer and then it was over.  After four months of anticipations and almost of year of talking about a mission, the day had finally come to start this amazing journey.  Good luck my sweet girl your are amazing!

It's Official!

Hey everyone!

The time is finally here! I am being set apart as a full time missionary in 3 hours! It will finally be official :) I will be flying to the Peru MTC early in the morning and I will be there for 6 weeks before I head out to the Iquitos mission! I am so excited for my adventures the next few weeks in Lima. I have so much stuff I could probably live for 5 years on a deserted island but it's okay.... better safe than sorry right? I feel bad for the elders who have to help me carry my suitcases! This is going to be a grand adventure and an incredible journey and I can't wait to meet all of these new people. Hopefully this blondie can survive in the jungle for 18 months.... I guess we will see! My Aunt Brie will be keeping the blog updated with my weekly emails and lots of pictures :) This is the last post from yours truly! I love you all, wish me luck!

My Farewell!

Hey everyone!

So I had my farewell last Sunday and it was such a great experience! Many thanks to all of my wonderful family and friends who traveled so far to come and see me! It was such a great afternoon being able to see and catch up with so many of my dear friends and also say good bye to everyone close to me before I leave next week for the Peru MTC! Huge shout out to my Aunt G who did all of the decorations, everything looked absolutely wonderful! Altogether it was wonderful day spent in the company of many beloved friends and family and I wouldn't have had it any other way!
